cannot save snippet for woocommerce products – plugin conflict

    Hello there

    we have an issue with woocommerce products.

    – SEO details panel is missing dropdowns
    – SEO details for every new product is stuck at N/A
    – editing the snippets and focus keyboards is possible, but edits are not saved.

    We managed by trial and error to isolate the issue to a conflict between RankMath and Tean Modern Audio Player (https://codecanyon.net/item/modern-audio-player-wordpress-plugin/19925056)

    We intend to contact the plugin developer of Modern Audio Player; it would be helpful though to receive your assistance in determining what Modern Audio Player is doing to interfere with RankMath

    To replicate the problem

    – with Modern Audio Player enabled:

    go to Products,

    open any product, say HUMANBEING

    – look at the RankMath panel – several entries are missing
    – disable Modern Audio Player – the RankMath panel for products is functional again.

    I was able to replicate the issue and indeed there is a heavy conflict between Rank Math and Modern Audio Player.

    We have passed this down to our dev team to take a closer look.

    In the meantime, you may also contact the support staff from Modern Audio Player and see if they have already encountered this issue before. They might be able to provide a solution as well.

    We would need to source dive the code of Modern Audio Player to fully understand what function is causing this conflict.

    At the moment looking at the console we don’t see anything that could be causing this, so this would indicate that some PHP function of that plugin is conflicting with calls from Rank Math.

    That investigation needs to be conducted by the developers of the plugin as they are aware of all the source code of the plugin and could more easily track down what functions are called on the posts page to see if anything could be conflicting with Rank Math.

    So, like my colleague suggested you should get in touch with them and see if they have experienced something similar in their tests.

    Update about this plugin conflict: I spoke to the developers of Modern Audio Player, but they were unwilling to assist in resolving the plugin conflict, even if we have a standard support subscription. They asked to bill us for custom work, which we thought unjustified, and refused.

    We are currently not PRO RankMath subscribers: would you assist in solving the plugin conflict, if we were subscribed?

    We treat these plugin conflicts the same for all our users. Even if you are a Free user and we discover a plugin conflict that can be fixed from our side we’ll do it.

    In this case, unfortunately, it seems that there’s very little we can do from our side to resolve this plugin conflict.

    So, upgrading to the PRO version wouldn’t guarantee that we would work on fixing any issues since those might not even be coming from our plugin after all.
