Cannot enable Redirections

When I try to enable the Redirections module, I get the spinner and nothing ever happens. I’ve tried it in incognito mode and I’ve cleared cache. Not sure what else to do.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This may suggest that there is a conflict with one of your installed plugins that is causing this on your end. Please perform the diagnostic steps described on the following link to isolate the culprit: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Problem still exists. Only difference in my troubleshooting was that I activated Twenty Seventeen, not Twenty Nineteen.

    Hi there,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the follow up.

There is an error reported on the page that is preventing the request. It looks like your host’s CORS policy is blocking the HTTP request to the JSON endpoint to save the enabled modules because it is loaded over HTTP and not HTTPs.
Please get in touch with your host to help in loading the insecure request.

Let us know if we can offer additional help. Thank you.

    This is almost a non-answer.

    What is the error?

Why is there an HTTP request being issued in the first place (my site is totally HTTPS)?

What is issuing the non-secure request?

I can enable the redirection on another site hosted with the same provider. Why does it work on one site and not another?

Give me enough information so that I can actually make a request to my hosting provider.

    Hi Jack,

    Apologies for the vague response.

I have attached a copy of the error reported on the JS console on the sensitive data section. The error is referencing a save request initiated by the Rank Math plugin to a wp-json endpoint on your site that is loaded over HTTP.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

Not really. It looks like Rank Math is making an http request. I can’t tell from this what is making the call. So, what do I “do”?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the follow up.

Please share some temporary FTP access too so that I can be able to advise further.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We have issued a few updates since this ticket was raised.

This issue should no longer occur.

Please let us know if you continue the face issue.

Interesting side note. I ONLY had the problem when I tried to enable the redirect AFTER I’d run through the setup wizard and DID NOT enable it. If I enabled it when running the wizard, it worked fine.

    Hi Jack,

    That’s interesting.

I will be sure to pass that along to the developers.
