Cannot control NoIndex and NoFollow (it reselects itself)

    Rank Math free

Hi, our search traffic has fallen through the floor.
    We’ve noticed nothing is indexing.
We see that on every page RankMath has auto-selected NoIndex and NoFollow.
That is wrong and now what we selected.
If we deselect the options, they automatically reselect themselves.
This is buggy and killing our search traction.
    HELP!
    Thanks

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the NoIndex and NoFollow settings in Rank Math. It sounds frustrating, especially when it impacts your search traffic.

To address this issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Check Rank Math Metabox: Open the post/page in the WordPress Editor. In the Gutenberg Editor, click the Rank Math SEO icon in the top-right corner to access the Rank Math Metabox. For Classic Editor, scroll down to find it at the bottom of the page.
      Rank Math Settings

    2. Advanced Tab: In the Rank Math Metabox, navigate to the Advanced Tab. If you cannot find it, ensure you have enabled the advanced mode from Rank Math SEO → Dashboard.
      Rank Math Advanced mode

    3. Check Robots Meta: Ensure that the Robots Meta is set to Index and not No Index. If it is set to No Index, select the Index checkbox and update the page/post.
      Advanced tab

    4. Search Engine Visibility Settings: Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress dashboard. Check if the checkbox labeled Discourage search engines from indexing this site is checked. If it is, uncheck it and click Save Changes.
      Leave Search engine visibility unchecked

If these steps do not resolve the issue and the settings keep reverting, it may be a bug or conflict with another plugin or theme. We recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from our support team can assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!
