Cannot Connect to Google Search Console

    Hi,

    I am trying to fix the SEO on my client’s website, and I noticed that Google Search Console somehow got disconnected. However, for some reason it’s not letting me reconnect. I have successfully verified my website with Google Webmaster Central, and I have copied the code into my webmaster tools in the WP backend, but when I go back to the setup wizard Search Console section it will not let me authorize. I click the Authorize button and nothing seems to happen. I click “get authorization code” and it brings up a google log in page, but it says that sign in with google is disabled because the app has not been verified.

    I have already tried switching to a basic theme and had the same problems.

    How can I finish hooking up Google Search Console for this website?

    I have copied my log in credentials into the sensitive data section of this ticket so that you can log into the admin side to take a look at things if needed.

    The “Get authorization” code pop up seems to work as expected when am testing. Could you please test this from a different browser?

    Ok, it’s working now. Not sure why it didn’t work last night. It took some other troubble shooting with the DNS connection, but everything seems to be working now!

    One other question, I set up Google Console etc. when I originally built the website six months ago. Any idea why it apparently dropped connection? The property didn’t show up at all in my Google Search Console admin panel until I reintegrated and re-verified. I would like to prevent disconnection in the future.

    Hi,

    We had to change the app code for GSC integration because we outgrew the last app we were using. That might be why you were asked to re-authorize.

    I am just glad that it is all working fine now.
