I’ve been facing this issue with Rank Math and Google Site kit plugin as well.

After I end up with clicking on connect google services, sign in and give in the permissions it redirects me to a 404 page. I was able to tackle this problem a few months ago by reinstalling WordPress, it was all fine until recently after I did the WordPress version update, the problem is back and I can’t be just reinstalling WordPress every time I encounter this issue.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please make sure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

Then, please make sure that the Google account you used to connect your Google Search Console profile is the same one you have used to verify your domain on GSC.

If it still doesn’t work, we have found that using a different Google account to verify your domain and connect your website usually works.

In the process, if you are using firefox try switching to chrome browser as we are facing some challenges with Firefox.

I hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

The URLs are correct. I created an other account on Rank Math with p****************@g******** and verified this email in GSC as well. I wasn’t even able to connect my Rank Math account in the plugin, after clicking the activate button it redirected me to a 404 page.

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us and we deeply apologize for the issue you are facing.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for that additional information, and apologies for the delay.

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Please get in touch with your web host and ask them to set these PHP values on your site:

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    Max input time: 150
    PHP time limit: 120

    2. Also ask them if you have the Mod Security feature enabled in your server, as this suggests that the rules that have been set are blocking the requests from our plugin.

    3. Once done, clear your website’s cache and connect your Rank Math account in Rank Math > Dashboard > Help.

If the issue still persists, please add your FTP and Rank Math account login credentials to investigate this issue further.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

To increase any of these php values I’ll need to upgrade my hosting plan. And they said that the mod security feature is enabled by default.

This all is being pretty time consuming and messy.

So, I’ve decided to just reinstall WordPress which certainly fixes the issue, but it reappears randomly – often when WordPress gets an update as mentioned earlier.

Maybe, some other time I’ll be able to keep up and diagnose the issue.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and apologies for the delay.

Let us know if you still need assistance with this issue as it seems that reinstalling your WordPress already fixed it.

Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime to assist you further with anything else.

    Thank you.

I figured REST API was somehow disabled on the website. So, I fixed it and now it’s all ok.

    Hello,

We are super happy that this resolved your issue. If you have any other questions in the future, know that we are here to help you.

    Thank you.
