Buddypress Page Titles

It took me a while to figure out that RankMath was the culprit of my Buddypresspages displaying “Page Not Found as the title. Now, I have searched the web for a while and found out that this is a common RankMath problem with Buddypress and has been for a while without any clear resolution. Some suggested PHP hacks broke my site. I also found out looking into RankMath setting that the only thing under Titles and Meta->Buddypress is Group. So

Having done Site Health troubleshooting, refreshed permalinks deactivated all other plugins, and manually edited the SEO titles, to no avail, I have concluded that RankMath is the only problem. This implies that the plugin does not work well with BuddyPress. Since this issue is commonplace and known to the authors for some time now, I want to find out if you will ever provide a permanent fix for this.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), please also check if the BuddyPress module is already enabled in your Rank Math Dashboard
    BuddyPress

If the issue still persists, please edit the first post on this ticket and include the affected URL/s, your WordPress, and FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

It’s obvious that I have BuddyPress Module turned on. How else will I have Group page under Titles and Meta?

However, I will not send my credentials because I have searched here and found that you guys at RankMath are aware of this being a common issue, so it’s not peculiar to my website. You have just chosen not to resolve it for some reason and people get frustrated and move on after a few scripted responses.

Again, this is a common RankMath compatibility problem with Buddypress as RankMath re-writes the titles for these Buddypress pages. Resolve the issue globally!

    Good luck

    Hi there,

Okay could you try to use a hook this one specifically https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#change-the-title to change the title if the current page is a profile page.

You can check if the current page is a user page with this – https://www.buddyboss.com/resources/reference/functions/bp_is_user/

If its a user page then change the title to what you need.
Its the solution that is being implemented here – https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/page-not-found-buddyboss-buddypress/

    Hope this helps.
