  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Having no footer shouldn’t cause Rank Math’s breadcrumbs to not work.

Can you please confirm if you wish to add only the breadcrumbs schema or do you also wish to add it on the frontend of your pages? If you intend to add the breadcrumbs on the frontend, please ensure that you have added the breadcrumbs code or the shortcode in the content of your posts/pages. Please refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/breadcrumbs/

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

    Hello Jeremy,

I have breadcrumbs activated and checked on it using a Rank Math video.

They show nowhere on the site. The only thing I see is in the blog where you can see “previous article” and “next article”, but that’s a wordpress/beaver builder/beaver themer feature.

    Hello,

You need to add the breadcrumbs shortcode [rank_math_breadcrumb] to display the breadcrumbs on the frontend.

To add the Breadcrumbs on all the posts/pages, you can add this PHP code at the bottom of the theme’s header.php file(this will display the breadcrumbs below the header of your website):
    <?php if (function_exists('rank_math_the_breadcrumbs')) rank_math_the_breadcrumbs(); ?>

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Thanks, Anas

What happens with theme upgrades? Wouldn’t this code be overwritten?

The problem is that Ahrefs lists 9 orphan pages for my site – bad for SEO.

But they are not real pages but category pages for my blog.

I don’t necessarily need the breadcrumbs on the page – but I want the orphan pages gone.

    HOw do I do that?

    thanks,

    Hello,

The code will be removed when the theme is updated, you will have to add it again.

When you have an orphan page, be it a category or any other page that means that there’s no other page on your website linking to it.

So, in order to get around this, you can set some pages linking to those categories that are currently orphan, for example, posts that have that category in them.

    Hope that helps.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

I have a post for each of these categories but all categories still show up as orphan pages at ahrefs. Soemething is not working.

    Hello,

The link to the category should be included in the post in the frontend to get an incoming link for the category. I checked your posts and the categories are not visible in the frontend. You can change that from the theme options or get in touch with your theme’s support to make the post’s categories visible in the frontend.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks, Jaideep

The categories are turned on in my theme settings for both archives and individual posts in meta.

It feels like WordPress and RankMath are not communicating well here.

Could this be the problem of my categories not showing?

    Hello,

I can see that the list of category links associated with a certain post is now visible on the frontend. You may let Ahrefs recrawl your website and check if you are still experiencing the orphan pages issue.

As mentioned by my colleague, the category links in your posts are controlled by your theme, and having a primary category set for the breadcrumbs has nothing to do with category links displayed on your post.

Aside from that, could you please confirm if you are still having issues generating the breadcrumbs on your pages?

Looking forward to helping you on this one.
