Blog is not indexed: URL is unknown to Google

I purchased a website about a month ago. I’ve been actively working on it and have already published over 40 blog posts. However, only 9 of them have been indexed by Google Search Console so far.

The strange thing is, Google seems to crawl the site, but it mostly focuses on less important pages instead of my actual blog posts.

    I’ve made sure that:

None of the pages are set to “noindex.”

All URLs are included in the sitemap submitted to Search Console.

The pages are accessible without any restrictions.

I’ve even used the “Request Indexing” feature, but the issue still persists.

Could you please help me identify why this is happening and guide me on how to fix it?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your blog not being indexed by Google. It can be frustrating when you’ve put in so much effort and only a few posts are indexed. Here are some potential reasons and solutions to consider:

    1. New Website

Since you mentioned that you purchased the website about a month ago, it’s important to note that it can take time for Google to index new sites fully. Patience is key, as it may take several weeks for all your pages to be indexed.

    2. Crawl Budget Issues

Google allocates a crawl budget to each site, which determines how many pages it will crawl. If your site has many low-quality or less important pages, Google might prioritize those over your blog posts. To improve this:

    • Ensure that your important blog posts are linked internally from other relevant pages on your site. This helps Google understand their importance.
    • Consider improving the overall quality of your site, as Google tends to index higher-quality sites more efficiently.

    3. Content Duplication

If there are duplicate contents on your site, Google may struggle to determine which version to index. Check for any duplicate content and use canonical URLs if necessary.

    4. Use of Instant Indexing

If you have a Rank Math PRO subscription, you can utilize the Instant Indexing feature to submit your URLs directly to search engines, which can help speed up the indexing process.

    5. Check Google Search Console

Utilize the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to check the status of your URLs. This tool can provide insights into why certain pages are not being indexed and if there are any errors.

    6. Quality Checks

Ensure that your blog posts meet quality standards. Google looks for well-structured content with good internal linking and relevant information.

If you’ve checked all these aspects and the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket with your website URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. They can provide more tailored guidance based on your specific situation.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!
