I am having a hell of a time getting rid of “warnings” from bing webmaster tools.

Please see the code on each of these pages to see that bing has flagged me for not having <alt> tags for images.

I would like to set these pages as NOT CRAWLED by Bing to avoid these errors, as I cannot find any missing alt text etc. etc. I don’t’ have time to go thru 29 pages that they are flagging. They are flagging post archives and category archives.

I THOUGHT that I had correctly used Rank Math to make these pages as you can see in the code.

    Am I missing something?

Also, if I subscribe to Rank Math can I get Chat Support as opposed to waiting for tickets, that would be an awesome time saver as I spend day after day trying to resolve my SEO issues, thanks.

Here are the examples of the archive pages that I believe i have correctly set.

Man I don’t know how you guys deal with this stuff, I am very persistent and will never give up but the amount of time I spend on this is incredible, so frustrating.

    Thanks…

  • Hello,

I apologize for the challenges you are facing with Bing Webmaster Tools and the warnings you are receiving regarding pages and posts marked as noindex nofollow. It seems like you are experiencing difficulties with Bing flagging your pages for missing alt tags for images.

To address this issue and prevent Bing from crawling specific pages, you can follow these steps:

    1. Noindex Specific Pages: You can mark specific pages as noindex to prevent Bing from crawling them. To do this using Rank Math, you can navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and set the desired pages to "noindex."

    2. Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives: If Bing is flagging post archives and category archives, you can set them as noindex to avoid these errors. To do this, go to WP Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Global Meta → Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives and save your changes.

    3. Clear Cache and Wait for Recrawl: After making these changes, ensure to clear the cache on your website and wait for Bing to recrawl your site to reflect the updated settings.

Regarding your question about getting chat support by subscribing to Rank Math, I recommend checking Rank Math’s official website or contacting their support team directly to inquire about the availability of chat support for subscribers. They will provide you with the most accurate information on the support options available.

If you need further assistance or have more questions, feel free to reply here, and we will be happy to help.

Thank you for reaching out, and we appreciate your persistence in resolving your SEO issues.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Rank Math support.

Your category and tag pages are already set to ‘noindex’, which means search engines are instructed not to index the page. However, to prevent the bots from crawling the page, you would need to use your robot.txt file.

To do this, please go to Rank Math > General Settings > Edit Robots.txt file and add the following rule:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /category/
    Disallow: /tag/

By adding these rules, you will disallow the crawling of your category and tag pages by any responsible bot.

We hope this information helps you to resolve the issue. If you have any other questions or concerns regarding Rank Math, please feel free to contact us again. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!
