Hello there one of my client has put his site on no index while migrating server and after migration he forgot to turn off no index and google has removed all his links(upto 70-80%) from google search engine.

Now he could not reindex any of the lnks by submitting via indexing API or form search console itself or by re-submitting sitemap in console.

Please help us in any possible way.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

After turning on index settings on your website, allow Google to recrawl it. It may take some time before Google will re-index all the pages.

You can manually re-submit your sitemap file so Google can look up to that as well. Please refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

If the issue persists, please share the URL of your website here so we can take a closer look at it.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site, but it seems that there are already URLs indexed. Please refer to the screenshot attached in the sensitive data section.

Could you please share the affected URL/s so we can verify them?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Hello there, they are custom categories and taxonomies.
But main post urls are not indexed.

As mentioned earlier, in console the links are showing as indexed but upon searching they don’t show up on Google 1st page. Bgmsquad usually ranks within top 5 positions(mostly at 3rd place) on Google no matter what they post but unfortunately after noindex issue, rankings for 90% of the keywords are fallen.

Some of the keywords we rank on 2nd place are naane varuven bgm, kantara bgm ringtones, vikram tamil bgm download, list goes on…

    Hello,

Can you please share these main post URLs with us so we can take a closer look at them?

Also, please check for URLs in your Google Search Console and look for any coverage issues so we can identify why your content is not indexed by Google.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

Here are some of recent posts that were ranking within top 3 positions on google before issue happened.

    Screenshot from console: https://prnt.sc/1hdz4pYvQ87d
All there posts have same info upon checking individual links.

    On checking sitemap coverage: https://prnt.sc/d146jMwvQwXT
Index coverage is not clickable and same goes with all our sitemaps. We have submitted full sitemap initially though nothing happened and now submitted individually as /post-sitemap1.xml /post-sitemap2.xml etc…

If necessary i can add any rankmath support team member as user in console to see what’s going on…

    Hello,

Checking your URL and the screenshot, there isn’t seem to be any issues and even Google discovered 300 urls from the sitemap. It is possible that the rankings were affected upon changing your site index settings. You will need to give Google some time to adjust again and hopefully regain your rankings.

Please note that ranking on Google depends on so much more than just your on-page optimization. You could have the perfect article and still struggle to break the top 10 in SERPs. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority
    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.
    3. How competitive the keyword is.
    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.
    5. Your website’s crawlability.
    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.
    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean 🙂 https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

I would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything.

No you are not getting my point.
What happened is they are ranking high on top for every post they have posted in their site meaning all 760 posts are among top 5 in every search possible term that post can have.
But due to mistakenly my client enabled noindex option at time of migration and forget to turn off ater migration is completed for more than 24hours. All of a sudden all the posts have been removed removed from google and they lost all ranks for all search terms. that is all 760 posts.

After he enabled index option and and resubmitted sitemap again in console where google has crawled but not showing in search results anywhere though if i check all urls individually in console it shows url is indexed in search engine but when searhced it doesnt show up on any page.

That clearly is something fishy right?

Can you suggest a better solution. I am sure you have something more to get site back to its previous position where they can rank back.

    Hello,

I checked all the links by doing a “site:” search and they are all indexed. Screenshot:

Since the pages previously ranked high, they will eventually regain their position. Adding fresh content and updating existing posts might also improve your ranking. Besides making sure the pages are setup correctly, there is nothing much that can be done to speed up the process.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.
