They also link to pages I no longer have.

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing backlinks from spam pages linking to pages you no longer have. This issue can harm your website’s SEO and reputation.

To address this problem, you can start by disavowing these spammy backlinks using Google’s Disavow Tool. This tool tells Google to ignore those links when assessing your website’s ranking. Here’s a guide on how to use the Disavow Tool: Google’s Disavow Tool Guide.

Additionally, you can monitor your backlinks regularly using tools like Rank Math to identify and disavow any new spammy backlinks.

Are there no protections against spammy backlinks?

How long will Google search to stop giving value to 25 spam backlinks?

I have backlinks from you and wordpress. These are of low quality, as they are not relevant to the topic of my site. What should I do with these 2 backlinks?

    Hello,

Using Google’s Disavow Tool is indeed a recommended solution when you’re dealing with spammy backlinks. It’s important to note that this tool should be used with caution because it can potentially harm your site’s performance if misused.

As for protections against spammy backlinks, there are no definitive ways to prevent them entirely. However, maintaining a healthy and natural link profile with high-quality backlinks can help mitigate the impact of any spammy ones.

Regarding the time it takes for Google to stop giving value to disavowed backlinks, it usually happens when Google recrawls the page and reevaluates the links. This process can take several weeks.

However, you can also request the indexing of your site by passing it through the URL Inspection Tool and request it there: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/ask-google-to-recrawl.

As for the backlinks from Rank Math and WordPress, if you believe these are not relevant to your site, you can also consider disavowing them. However, please note that not all low-quality backlinks are harmful. If the sites are not spammy and have a good reputation, their backlinks might not negatively impact your site.

    Hope that helps.
