author schema not updating - Support

Hi, I’ve recently changed the author of all my blog posts, however the schema is not updating.

For example please review the BlogPosting schema on the blog post below and you can see the “Person” is still “Editorial Team”.

I want the person/author schema to reflect the correct author. How can this be updated?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please make sure that the Author Archives is enabled at Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors.

Then, go to the post > SEO settings > Schema Tab > Delete the Article Schema and add it again.

Hey Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this did not work.
Looking at the schema code, it seems it’s generating the author section twice?

You can see both “Editorial Team” & “Andrew Fisher” in the mark up.

Any idea why thats happening?

Your website may still be using a cached version of the author schema. Please purge any cache on your server and/or in caching plugins and check the author schema again. If that does not work, we may need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

I’ve purged cache on SiteGround, Cloudflare & WP Rocket and still no update. I’ve also given login details for above.

Hello,

When you change the author of each post you need to reset the schema which keeps its original data. As stated in our first reply, go to the post > SEO settings > Schema Tab > Delete the Article Schema and add it again. Here’s a screencast for convenience: https://i.rankmath.com/WwyhCq

I checked the latest post, the author URL is now added to the post.

For the other posts, follow the same steps and check the page with the Rich Snippet tool.
