You’ll need to keep the Author Archive option enabled if you wish to keep the author archives. If disabled, the Author Archives are redirected to your homepage.

regardless if it’s disabled or enabled, the same thing happens it’s redirected to the home page. Which I do not want. The only time it works, the way I want is if I deactivate Rank Math

Most likely this is occurring due to a caching issue. Can you please try clearing your browser, site, plugin or any server level cache to see if that works for you? Make sure, the Author Archive is enabled on your site.
