Hi,
When setting the author archives to noindex in Rankmath, this is not reflecting on the front end, they are still set to index.
Thanks

Hi,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
I was able to log in and saw the issue, kindly allow me to consult the developer on this and then I’ll get back to you.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
Can you please give us write access to your site? With the access you added in the Sensitive Data Section, I couldn’t view the Edit user screen.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hi Pratik,
The login has Admin rights, which is the highest I can grant. Do you have any advice?
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
I think it was because the access was only for a single site on a multisite network, I have now given you Super Admin access to the network.
Hi Max,
I am getting this when I try to edit any author’s profile:
Not sure what’s causing this but I am pretty confident this might be why the noindex is not working on author archives.
Can you please check why we are not able to edit author profiles in the backend?
OK I’ve added you as full user, rather than through the temporary login plugin, again granted Superadmin access for the network. Lets see if that works.
You should receive a password to s******@r*********** email.
Hi Max,
It seems like the global noindex for authors is not working on this environment. I have alerted the dev. team about this and they will fix this in an upcoming update.
In the meantime, I have added a video to the sensitive area above to show you a workaround for noindexing your author archives. Please use this option until we fix the global setting.
Hi,
I noticed that in the current update its stated that author archive Global Index option issue had been fixed; however I no longer see the option to set custom meta
When I click the custom button, it should drop down with the options right? However, nothing happens when I click it.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
I have been able to replicate this problem on my end and this has been submitted to our dev team for closer investigation.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
We’ve just released an update addressing this issue. Please update your plugin to the latest version i.e v1.0.35.2
Hope that helps. Thank you.
Ok I can edit site wide author meta values now.
If I make a new user, its’ URL is set to noindex, however all existing authors are still set to index, the global values are still not being applied to these.

Hello,
Global settings apply to new authors only. If there is an existing author page with custom robots setting – the global settings will not apply to it.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
