Alt Text setting – does it overwrite the ALT text already there?

    Hi,
    I understand RankMath allows setting MISSING ALT Text by choosing the appropriate setting and choosing the available option.

    Say I choose “Focus Keyword”.

    Now my question if a page has 10 images, of which 6 images have got there ALT texts properly set manually already.

    Now if I choose the auto setting above using “Focus Keyword”, will RankMath reset all 10 Keywords ALT texts with the respective page’s “Focus Keywords” or just the 4 images which do not have ALT texts set and they are missing?

    As per promise, they are supposed to only set the “MISSING ALT Text”.

    Please clarify.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    If your images already have alt text in them, Rank Math will not override it. In your example, since 6 of the 10 images have alt text, Rank Math will only occupy the alt text to the 4 images if you enable “Add missing ALT attributes” option under SEO Images settings.
