Advanced Robots Meta Values

    Hello,

    we are trying to understand what to make of the Advanced Robots Meta options you have in the Global Meta Tab.

    If you change the default values (let’s say you change Snippet length to 150 instead of -1/unlmited), what would it do?
    Does it limit your ability to write snippets over the specified value?
    Does it tell the bots to only consider the first 150 characters of your snippet regardless of its length?

    If you limit the Image Preview size to standard, will Large images not be previewed?

    It is a little confusing… we cannot find documentation on that, and the setup documentation page is not updated (https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/) to answer that question.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    These determine the length of the meta info provided by the plugin to search engines:
    – Max Snippet – This will set the number of characters for the snippets provided by the plugin. The default value is -1 which means that the snippet entered in the plugin will be displayed as it is. You can specify the number of characters to display here but it is recommended to set this to default.
    – Max Video Preview – This Specifies a maximum duration in seconds of an animated video preview submitted by Rank Math. The default setting -1 means that the whole video will be displayed.
    – Max Image Preview – This specifies the maximum image preview size and you can set the dimension that you would prefer.
