Adding trailing slash to homepage

    Hi

    How do I add trailing slash to the homepage?

    right now the site loads with and without trailing slash:

    zapp.dk/
    zapp.dk

    both respond with 200 OK

    Tried adding

    /**
    * Allow changing of the canonical URL.
    *
    * @param string $canonical The canonical URL.
    */
    add_filter( ‘rank_math/frontend/canonical’, function( $canonical ) {
    return trailingslashit( $canonical );
    });

    to functions.php but that did not do anything.

    I looked at the source code of the URL zapp.dk and noticed the trailing slash has been added to the canonical URL in the source code of the URL.

    This has happened because of the filter you’ve added in the functions.php file of your theme.

    If you’d like to redirect the page from non-slash to a trailing slash URL, then you can achieve that with the Rank Math redirection module.

    Hi

    I just tested creating a redirect from zapp.dk to zapp.dk/ and that does not work unfortunately. It just says “please add at least one valid source URL”.

    Are there any other solutions?

    This is something that WordPress should automatically do. You may refer to this guide instead as this should help you add the trailing slash to your homepage: https://permalinkmanager.pro/docs/plugin-settings/how-to-add-remove-trailing-slashes/

    Clear your cache after adding the trailing slash on WordPress’s permalink settings and see if this resolves your issue.
