Hello,
Thank you so much for getting in touch.
Schema data doesn’t appear on sitemaps. They primarily contain links to pages on your site for search engines to crawl.
Updating schema on your pages won’t require a sitemap update. Sitemaps remain static unless there are structural changes on your site, like adding or deleting pages.
Lastly, our sitemap doesn’t need any updating as it is automatically updated upon a change in page status.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hello,
Can you share the URL of the affected pages with us?
By default, Rank Math uses the current post/page URL as the canonical URL, so you would only need to alter this setting if you wish to change it to something else. This is also known as a self-referencing canonical.
We suspect the error you are describing is the Alternative page with proper canonical tag error.
The issue of “Alternative page with proper canonical tag” errors typically arises when multiple URLs lead to similar or duplicate content, and Google will simply exclude the duplicate version and index the main version of the page.
This means that Google recognises these canonicalized URLs correctly, and there is nothing you need to do on your part: https://rankmath.com/kb/alternate-page-with-proper-canonical-tag/#num-1-what-does-alternate-page-with-proper-canonical-tag-mean
We look forward to hearing back from you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
We checked the two URLs you shared and can see that they both have self-referencing canonical URLs. If you just corrected the issue by removing the canonical URL you formerly entered and allowing Rank Math to generate the self-referencing canonical URL itself then you just have to wait for Google to recrawl your site and update its information.
If this is not the case you can share a screenshot of the culprit URLs shown by Google Search Console.
We look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Buenos días, el error de “Duplicada: Google ha elegido una versión canónica diferente a la del usuario”, contiene las siguientes URL:
https://www.magoalkantara.com/politica-de-cookies-de-mago-alkantara/
https://www.magoalkantara.com/politica-privacidad-mago-alkantara/
Además he adjuntado 2 imágenes donde indican las url que están sin indexar.
Las URL adjuntadas y los errores de indexación, tienen algo que ver con el sitemap?
Gracias.
Hello,
This status message means that Google has found two or more pieces of content on your site that are identical or very similar. However, when Google chose a “canonical” version of the content (the one that should be indexed), it chose a different URL than the one you selected.
Here’s a link for more information:

Looking forward to helping you.
De acuerdo, ¿entonces ustedes no ven motivos para corregir el sitemap, aunque se cambiara la url canónica de 2 de las páginas principales de mi web?
Gracias, un saludo.
Hello,
Rank Math will automatically update the sitemap once you update the canonical URL of a page so you don’t have to do anything from your end.
Looking forward to helping you.
Muchas gracias por todo, un saludo.
