Using Rankmath and ACF WYSIWYG field, internal and external links entered to this field show up while editing the page/post, but do not show up in the pages list or the posts list.

I’ve tried to fix this by using the default wordpress theme, with no success.

What can be done to fix this?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I am sorry but I am not able to completely understand your issue. Can you please explain a bit more and share some screenshots of the issue? You can use a tool like https://imgbb.com to share the screenshots.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
When editing the page, the SEO Analysis results show the links added to the ACF WYSIWYG field:
    https://ibb.co/YZStc9r

When trying to see an overview of internal / external links, by going to the pages list, the link count doesn’t show the correct amount:

    I hope that’s clearer.

    Hello,

The second screenshot you shared doesn’t seem to come from Rank Math. Could you please confirm? Rank Math displayed the count of the internal/external links under the SEO Details column. Please refer to my screenshot here: https://i.rankmath.com/FXvo73

If the link count is still wrong on your end. Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click on the button “Rebuild Index”.

Let us know how it goes. We are looking forward to helping you.

    Here is the relevant screenshot:

As you can see, the issue is the same.

    Hello,

The screenshot of the Analysis that you have shared is from Yoast and not from Rank Math. Can you please confirm if you are using Yoast? If you are using Rank Math then make sure that Rank Math’s SEO analysis is detecting the internal links.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

You can clearly see that I’m using RankMath in this screenshot, and that it shows links correctly for the ACF field:
    https://ibb.co/dGWz9rx

Here you can see the same page in the page list, with RankMath’s SEO Details column.
    https://ibb.co/fkS6dGL
In this screenshot you can see that no links are listed.

Please let me know how to get RankMath to show the amount of links in the ACF WYSIWYG field when looking ate the pages list.

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

    Hello,

It looks like the user doesn’t have admin access. please kindly elevate the access so that we can troubleshoot the issue.

I have also shared the screenshot for the same in the sensitive data section.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I’ve elevated the user to Admin.
You still won’t have access to plugin installation or updates, as per our company guidelines, so let me know if you need me to add anything or change something.

    Hello,

The fact that you see the links being detected by the post-tests doesn’t mean that the plugin Link Counter module will be able to retrieve that information properly from your ACF fields.

If you use the default editor you can see that the links are detected fine on your website:
    Link counter working

So, this shows clearly that the links are recognized when used in the actual post content and not any ACF field.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

I understand that the links are listed correctly when you use the default editor.

What I need is for the links to be listed correctly when using the ACF WYSIWYG content editor.

It already shows correctly when you look at each page individually.
I just need it to show up on the pages list as well.

Just let me know if that’s possible at all or not.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the plugin will currently only check for links added in the main post content and not in custom fields/meta.

The failed tests will however not affect your actual SEO since the tests are only benchmarks on the back end to give you a rough idea of the areas that need improvement.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
