I found that rank math can not creat the tag of meta name=’description’ content. I need to manually enter a piece of text in Post-rank math-Edit Snippet-Description, and then I can see it in the source code of the page. But the strange thing is that not all articles have this problem. Could you have a check? Thanks
Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.
If there’s no meta description added to your snippet editor, Rank Math should be able to revert to the global meta settings that you set up here: Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Posts.
However, if that doesn’t work, can you please confirm if you are using any custom page builder to construct your content?
We asked this since the default meta description is always %excerpt% and usually this is taken from your post content editor and if your editor is powered by a page builder that we currently support, the %excerpt% variable will not work.
However, if that isn’t the case, assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
I am using the Stackable and Gutenberg Editor. The theme is blocksy. In the rankmath-Titles & Meta – Posts-Single Post Description is %excerpt% and Description is %seo_description%. Will I change the setting? Thanks
I aslo did the mode of troubleshooting to test. When I only actived the plugin of rank math, this post still had not the tag of meta name= description.
