    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Can you please confirm if the data is saved upon updating the page?

If the data is not saved, please check if you are using a Firewall, as it may prevent saving the changes.

If you are using a Firewall, please whitelist this route:
    /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta

Whitelisting the route should fix the issue.

You can check this link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/#firewall

Also, are you using any page builders to add content to the posts?

If yes, please let us know which one you are using.

    Looking forward to helping you

Get it fixed, I’ve never had this problem before using your plugin!

    Hello,

If the changes you made are getting saved without any issues and the score is still reducing after updating the post then please share a screencast of the issue using a tool like https://loom.com/ so we can check and assist you further.

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

I really don’t want to white list this problem as I don’t have the time or the experience.

I’m also getting a load of error 404 messages, and when I attempt to use the plugin to use the 404 nothing happens.

    Hello,

You just need to ask your host to whitelist the updateMeta route to make sure that the changes you make in the metadata are being saved.

For the 404s, we only report them. We do not have information on how or why they are generated. You can get further insight into them by enabling the advanced monitor at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > 404 Monitor.
    404 monitor

That will give you more information like the referrer and the user-agent. You can use that information to track down the source or find out if it is just bots generating those errors.

You can also fix these errors by redirecting them to a related page on your website:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-404-errors/

Or, you can add them to the exclusion list at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > 404 Monitor > Exclude Paths
    fix 404

If you are seeing random 404s that you know for a fact are incorrect – it is likely generated by a bot and can be safely ignored. You could also use a service like Cloudflare to block out access to bots so they do not use up your server resources.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
