Hello,
Thank you for getting in touch and I am extremely sorry about the trouble this might have caused.
The rating/stars added through Rank math are author ratings and cannot be modified from the users end. To add user ratings you will need to add another plugin to your site that allows user reviews and rating
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi and thanks for answer,
i don’t understand why Rank Math works in this way about rich snippets. Users don’t care about that kind of stuff, users want really votes they can given. Google can read meta data so why i have to put the shortcode in the frontend?
This is disappointed for me about this plugin, and it’s such a shame, microdata is a good feature to play against Yoast.
Hello,
You don’t have to add the shortcode in the front end of your post. The shortcode is to add/display the post review on your post front end. This is not to allow user reviews.
As for the rating on the SERPs, this is taken automatically from your schema. It can be added to your post schema via a review plugin on your site allowing users to add reviews to be added to your pages.
If you feel this doesn’t still answer your question, please share a screencast showing an implementation of the feature you are requesting. You can use https://www.loom.com to create the screencast.
Looking forward to helping you.
So, if i don’t put the shortcode, schema “course” – for example – is already written in page code?
Still don’t understand why i have to put a fake reviews in my course page. Sorry.
Hello,
Well, right now this is more intended for reviews and using the user reviews as an extra from other plugins (like WooCommerce). In fact, I understand your concerns and we are working on an improved version of this.
Looking forward to help you.
So, recap:
– if i need reviews schema compiled by users and ready for google i need another plugin
– to inject other microdata in the page code – for example “course” schema, with course owner ecc. – i need to put the shortcode in the wordpress frontend
It’s everything correct? I’m happy that you are working about it, but i need to know what i have to do actually. Thank you. I don’t uninstall Rank Math only because of this don’t worry 🙂
Hello,
Yes, to add user reviews, you will need a third-party plugin.
Here is an article explaining the review shortcode whien configuring Rank math schema: https://rankmath.com/kb/rich-snippets/#shortcode
We are glad you understand. We will let you know if and when there are new updates on the schema module. You can also keep an eye on our changelog for the same: https://rankmath.com/changelog/
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
