429 Request Instant Indexing Error

The HTTP 429 response code indicates that your IP address has sent too many requests to the IndexNow API within a short period. This can happen even if you have disabled auto-submission, especially if other websites on the same server are also making requests to the API.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

1. Stop Submitting URLs Temporarily: Since you are experiencing rate limiting, it’s advisable to stop submitting URLs to the IndexNow API for a while.

2. Deselect Auto-Submission: Ensure that the auto-submission feature is indeed disabled. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Instant Indexing → Settings in your WordPress dashboard and ensuring that all post types are unchecked in the Auto-Submit Post Types setting.
   

3. Change Your API Key: If the problem persists, consider changing your API key. You can do this in the same settings area and then save your changes. After changing the key, clear your website cache and wait for a few hours before trying to submit URLs again.
   

4. Contact Your Hosting Provider: If you are on shared hosting, it’s possible that other sites on the same server are consuming the quota assigned to your shared IP address. In this case, contacting your hosting provider may help resolve the issue.
