    Rank Math free

    Hello RankMath SEO Team,

Can you please check why my site is continuously being affected by a 429 request when the instant indexing is attempting to be used as this has only been used a handful of times.

I am using WordPress.org & free version of RankMath currently.

    My website: https://klfootprints.com

    Looking forward to your response.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Note: I emailed s******@r*********** on June 12 & was told I had to submit this ticket on here. Also, I have now noticed that my Rankmath plugin is gone from my WordPress dashboard plugins list. I never deactivated, removed, or uninstalled the plugin. Nor did I ever request RankMath team to do so in any way and I noticed this happened after I sent my message.

    Regards,
    Aanika

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 429 request error while using the Instant Indexing feature. The HTTP 429 response code means "Too Many Requests," indicating that your IP address has sent too many requests to the IndexNow API within a short period. This can happen if you exceed the quota of 10,000 URLs per HTTP POST request or if other websites on the same server are also using up the quota.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Stop Submitting URLs Temporarily: Cease submitting your URLs to the IndexNow API for a while.
    2. Disable Auto-Submission: Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Instant Indexing → Settings in your WordPress dashboard and deselect the auto-submission options for Posts, Media, and Pages.
Deselect auto-submission in the Instant Indexing Settings
    3. Change Your API Key: If the problem persists, consider changing your API key in the settings and saving the changes. This can sometimes help if your current key is being throttled.
Change your API key and Save
    4. Clear Cache: After making changes, clear your website cache and wait a few hours before trying to submit URLs again.

If you continue to experience issues, it may be due to other sites on your shared hosting server consuming the quota. In that case, you might want to contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

Regarding your Rank Math plugin disappearing from your WordPress dashboard, we recommend checking if it is still installed by navigating to the plugins section. If it is not there, you may need to reinstall it. You can download the latest version from the Rank Math website.

If you have any further questions or need more assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

    Thank you for your understanding!
