429 Error – Too Many Requests – Google Indexing

#469152
  • Hi there,

I have searched a lot for the answer and as of yet have found little help or answers across the net or the other questions tagged under 429 error submitted by other Rank Math users on this site. (By the way, great product!)

I am experiencing 429 errors when I use the Instant Indexing section.

    I was thinking that:

    1. The Too Many Requests could be happening because Auto-Submit Post Types was ticked??

    2. I also spoke directly with my hosting technician and they have asked me the following to ask Rank Math:

“Are RankMath able to provide a list of IP addresses they use that we could potentially whitelist at all please?”

If you could help me with these 2 points it might help me and others get a step closer to why the 429 Error happens.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    1. Yes, if you have selected the Auto-Submit Post Types, the post will be automatically sent to the IndexNow API when a post is published, updated, or trashed. The status code 429 indicates that you are trying to send too many requests and you should slow down a little bit and retry later.

    2. We don’t have any IP to whitelist. You can try changing the IndexNow API key and see if that helps.

We look forward to helping you.
