The list of 404 errors is blank even though we are trying to deliberately cause them to be caught. Could be theme or builder specific?

I am having the same issue. I noticed it with the previous version of the plugin and just updated to the latest and it’s still not showing any 404’s even on purpose.
ok good to know its not just me.
note, on the same site i tested, this plugin

Automatically redirect all 404 errors to any page using 301 redirect for SEO. You can redirect and log every 404 errors. No more 404 errors in Webmaster tool.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The 404 monitor works as expected on my end. There are two reasons why Rank Math would be unable to detect 404s:
1). If you have a custom 404 page from the theme that is set to detect all 404s,
2). If you have enabled default redirection to the homepage via Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections > Fallback Behavior. This should be set to “Default 404”Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
I removed my 404 page in theme builder and it did indeed fix the issue. What I don’t understand is everything worked fine in 1.0.39. Does anyone know how to apply a custom layout to the default hello-elementor theme? I tried just doing a redirect but then the 404 monitor stopped working it seems.
Hello Chris,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
Would you mind sharing a screen recording of the steps that you are taking so that we can try to replicate this from our end?
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Hello Chris,
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please create a new ticket and edit the first post to include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hey Michael,
My site has indeed a custom 404 because I think it’s important to inform the user if he’d done something wrong.
Despite that, my current version of the site is a revamp, so I have a lot of old links that I would like to track to see if people are accessing wrong pages.
Aren’t there any kind of configuration where I could still use my 404 and still monitor for ir in RankMath?
I’m very disappointed with this missing feature, I’ve always thought it was key to keep consistency of site URLs.
Hi Verlindo,
Thanks for getting in touch with us today.
I am checking with our dev team if there are any possible workaround for this.
We will be getting back to you shortly. Thank you.
Hi,
I am sorry but your 404s are returning a 301 a getting redirected to the homepage. It would be impossible for Rank Math to detect a 404 when the status code is not 404 in the first.
Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this right now unless your 404s return a 404 status code too.
