404 Monitor doesn’t work

    Hello,

    I have generated many 404 error pages and yet the 404 monitor log is still empty!

    Please note that i’m using litespeed enterprise server with litespeed cache plugin

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

    Are you using a 404 template?

    If yes, please note that our 404 Monitor only logs a URL as 404 if it actually returns a 404 status. Please navigate to WP Dashboard > Plugins > Plugin Editor and select Rank Math SEO and go to /seo-by-rank-math/includes/modules/404-monitor/class-monitor.php

    One Line 46, change this:
    $this->action( $this->get_hook(), 'capture_404' );

    To this:
    $this->action('template_redirect', 'capture_404' );

    If you are not using a template, please follow these steps:

    1. Update to the latest version of Rank Math

    2. Ensure that the Advanced Mode is selected:
    advanced mode

    3. Re-create tables by clicking WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Re-create database Table button.

    But all this will be gone when i update the plugin !
    is there a way to do it using a function ?!

    or maybe even add it in the next update for the 404 settings as a check box
    “Are you using a theme 404 template? Yes/No
    and an if yes then ………

    Hello,

    Thank you for the valuable insight. It might even be possible to automate the 404 template check so you don’t need to do it. I’ll pass your suggestion on to our developers who are working on a permanent solution.

    For now, you will have to manually add back the template redirect code whenever it is overwritten by an update.
