404 Log is showing hits to my code files

    My 404 log is showing hits to my code pages and theme setup files on daily basis. It does not look like a human behind these hits. I talked to my theme support and they said there is no fault in the theme code files and everything seems to be intact. I then talked to my hosting provider who ran a malware scan on the website and nothing was detected there either.
    Could you please tell me if there is a compatibilty issue of rankmath with my theme or is it something else. I am using Amelia theme from 17th Avenue.

    to give an example of the urls that are being hit:
    -> wp-content/plugins/transposh-translation-filter-for-wordpress/js/transposh.js
    -> wp-content/plugins/imagemagick-engine/js/ime-admin.js
    -> wp-content/plugins/wp-user-frontend-pro/assets/css/css-stars.css
    -> wp-content/themes/sketch/include.php

    I clear the logs only to find them appearing again after a couple of hours which shows that these files are constantly being attacked. And since they are website code based files, it doesn’t seem like a human behind it.

    Please look into it and guide me. This causing unnecessary load and traffic on my website.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with 404 errors on your website.

    Rank Math only records 404 errors and cannot determine their source or what caused them. In this case it looks like your theme and plugin files are being crawled by robots that are looking for vulnerabilities on your website. You can ignore the 404 errors.

    If the 404 errors are causing an unnecessary load on your resources, you may have to implement a firewall to block the requests. You can check with your hosting support, or WordPress security plugin on how to block unwanted requests. Please also make sure that all your plugins, themes and WordPress are up to date, and you have deleted all deactivated plugins to reduce the chance of any vulnerabilities being found.

    Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    Hello,
