    Hey,

I’m trying to revamp my website, which entailed my setting up a new homepage. Now, I am getting repeated 404 errors in regards to [moved to sensitive data section]. When I try to apply a redirect, as the homepage I established has the slug green-lady-astrology (that I cannot seem to remove) it will not recognise as a valid origin. Ultimately I would like my new homepage that has got the green-lady-astrology slug established simply as, and of course I would like to see if I could fix the 404 error to. Bearing in mind I am not a developer, I am doing my best.

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

I understand that you are experiencing 404 errors on your website after setting up a new homepage with a different slug. To resolve this issue and set up a redirect, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify the Issue: Ensure that the new homepage with the slug "green-lady-astrology" is correctly set up in your WordPress settings.

    2. Create a Redirect: You can use the Rank Math redirection module to redirect visitors from the old URL to the new one. This will help improve user experience and pass link juice to the correct URL. You can refer to this guide on creating redirections and solving 404 errors using Rank Math.

    3. .htaccess File: If the redirection doesn’t work, you can manually add a redirection rule to your website’s .htaccess file. Here is an example of a redirection rule to redirect from www to non-www:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} www.greenladyastrology.com
    RewriteRule (.*) https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Website-URL-and-Site-URL-WordPress-General-settings.jpg [R=301,L]
    1. Testing: After adding the redirection rule, make sure to test the URLs to ensure they are redirecting correctly.

If you encounter any difficulties or if the issue persists, please feel free to reply here, and our support team will assist you further.
