Hello,
I’m sorry to hear about the 404 errors you are experiencing on your website due to switching your domain name. It’s great that you checked the 404 monitor and found that the hits are directed to your new domain name.
Since the issue seems to be related to the old domain name still being indexed by Google search results, you may need to set up proper redirects from the old domain to the new one. This will ensure that visitors who access the old domain are automatically redirected to the corresponding pages on your new domain.
To fix this issue, you can follow these steps:
- Set up 301 redirects from the old domain to the new domain. This will inform search engines that the content has permanently moved.
- Update any internal links on your website that may still point to the old domain.
- Submit a new sitemap to Google Search Console for the new domain to help Google index the correct URLs.
If you need further assistance or detailed instructions on setting up redirects, feel free to reply here, and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
Thank you for reaching out with your concern.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please note that in the 404 Monitor, Rank Math only records the URLs of your current domain. If you see your homepage URL in the 404 monitor, it means that some bots are trying to access this URL: https://yourdomain.com/yourdomain.com
This is because all of the 404 errors are relative to the homepage, so you can safely ignore those and go about your day.
If the error was on your homepage, you would see only a forward slash in the log /.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
