2 WP installs working as 1 brand – how do 2 Rank Math’s work together?

    Hi,
I am looking for basic insight about an unusual setup scenario.

I have 2 WordPress installs working as 1 brand. One is like a blog, the other a store. The store is working from a subfolder.

For each I like the most appropriate Rank Math basic setup.

    The blog
    https://domain.com

Your site is: Small Business Site or Community Blog?
Brand is a: Small Business Site?
    Business Type: Organization?

    The store
    https://domain.com/shop

    Your site is: Webshop?
Brand is a: Small Business Site?
    Business Type: — Store?

The items in the store can rank by themselves and are supposed to be shown in Google Shopping (Smart shopping campaigns).
In Google Analytics, the brand is 1 property.

    Following the given scenario:
Sitemaps, how do I handle this? Combine manually? (less important right now, compared to the other questions)
Schema? I still have to learn what this does in detail.

I have looked at the documentation and watched many videos to get my head around this. I guess it depends on how Rank Math works in the background, I have given it my best shot, but I like your professional advice.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Regarding the first set of settings that you asked and judging by the explanations you gave we believe these should be similar to this:

    The blog
    https://domain.com

    Community Blog
Business Type: The type of business of your main organization.

    The store
    https://domain.com/store

    WebShop
Business Type: The type of business of your main organization.

Regrading the other inquiries, since Rank Math treats each installation individually the sitemaps and the Analytics module would be completely independent of each other.

Even if you have the GSC property as a domain property, our Analytics module doesn’t support that method on GSC for the Analytics module, and as such you would need to have two properties using the URL prefix method in this case.

In terms of sitemaps, you can include the sitemap from one website in another by editing this filter appropriately: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#18-filter-to-add-external-sitemap-to-the-rank-math-sitemap

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
