Set Redirection as 404

#990298
  • Hello. When adding a new redirection, would it be possible to add “404” as a redirection type? My website was hacked so there are several URLs using my domain that I didn’t create and I can’t access them to delete them or change them. Hence, I was hoping to have them redirected to a 404 page. Would that be possible? Thank you for your time.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website. Unfortunately, you cannot set a redirection type as "404" in Rank Math. Instead, a 404 error indicates that the requested resource was not found, and it is typically handled automatically by the server when a user tries to access a non-existent page.

However, you can manage 404 errors effectively using the 404 Monitor feature in Rank Math. This allows you to see all the captured 404 errors on your website and take appropriate actions, such as setting up redirects to other pages if needed.

To enable the 404 Monitor, navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO and ensure that the 404 Monitor Module is enabled. You can then view and manage the errors from there.

Thank you for raising this concern!
