  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with pages appearing in Google search results that do not exist. To prevent these pages from being indexed, you can take the following steps:

    1. Add a Noindex Meta Tag: You can add a noindex meta tag to the pages you want to exclude from indexing. This tells search engines not to index these pages while still allowing users to access them. You can find instructions on how to add a noindex meta tag here.

    2. Remove or Redirect the Pages: If these pages are remnants of WooCommerce and are no longer needed, consider removing them altogether or setting up 301 redirects to relevant pages on your site. This will help guide users and search engines to the correct content.

    3. Check Your Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking Google from crawling your site. You can use the robots.txt testing tool to verify this.

    4. Use Google Search Console: If you have access to Google Search Console, you can request removal of specific URLs from the search results. This can be done under the "Removals" section.

    5. Content Audit: Conduct a content audit to identify any outdated or unnecessary pages on your site and take appropriate action.

By following these steps, you should be able to manage the indexing of unwanted pages effectively. If you need further assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

    Hello,

We checked the pages and we can see they are not indexed on Google:

In this case, can you please share a screenshot of the issue by using a tool like https://imgur.com/upload so that we can check this further for you?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

There are two things you can do here:

#1. You can use the Google URL Inspection Tool to request a recrawl of your website. This will tell Google to re-fetch your website data and update accordingly. You can find the tool here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9012289#request_indexing

#2. Temporarily block the URLs from Google Search (This is a quick fix). Here is how You can go about it. Go to your Google search console
    https://search.google.com/search-console/
The URL must be in a Search Console property that you own (select the correct domain property)

Please refer to this article to learn more about this temporary removal: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9689846?hl=en#zippy=%2Cclear-cached-url%2Ctemporarily-remove-url

Hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks.

Hi Ike! Thank you for responding:

I attempted to submit indexing. This was the result:

Then I realized i already requested temporary removal on the 14th:

As of now it is still appearing in the results page even after clearing cache:

    Images

    Hello,

This is already Google’s decision as to when they are going to remove those URLs for that search term.

You have already requested the removal of those in your GSC, so all that needs to be done here is to wait for them to be removed from the search results page.

You can set a redirect for them to a relative URL so they won’t end up in a 404 on your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Understood. Thank you for all your help!
