    Rank Math free

Hi, I’ve tried to solve this for over a week, I’m annoyed, and your AI support is useless.

I swapped from Yoast to RankMath to improve my website’s performance, which it did, and I was initially very happy about.

The, I noticed suddenly within a day or so of swapping from yoast to rank math, that my websites google search impressions just shop up, from about 1000 per day, to over 4000 impressions per day. Initially I though, wow, this is incredible! Then I looked at the search keywords – we are ranking for a number of permutations of the word filmyfly.

What the heck? This is not in any of our content, it’s not in any of our keywords, it’s not related to our websites content, and our website has 100% quality content.

We sell festival and rave clothing, accessories, and equipment. We have a blog where we give people tips for festival stuff like first aid, recipes, artist interviews, reviews of new music, information about upcoming events.

the keyword: filmyfly is related to bollywood! WHAT THE HELL! The page that comes up on google when this keyword is searched for has no mention at all of anything that could even slightly be related!

I was considering paying for the full version of this plugin in the beginning because I was so impressed by the performance improvements. As of right now, I definitely wont be paying for anything from you, as this is bs, google will penalise us for ranking for irrelevant keywords, and it’s your plugin that’s doing some weird stuff.

Either get back to me with an explanation, or a strategy to remove this ridiculous, irrelevant keyword from our website, or from your plugin, or wherever it is. or I will be forced to remove rankmath from our website, and ensure other admins know of this.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s keyword rankings. It can be frustrating to see unexpected results, especially when you have put in a lot of effort to optimize your content.

When switching from one SEO plugin to another, such as from Yoast to Rank Math, there can be several factors that influence keyword rankings and impressions:

    1. Meta Tags and Content Analysis: Ensure that your meta tags and content are properly optimized for the keywords relevant to your niche. Rank Math provides tools to analyze your content and suggest improvements. You can refer to our setup guide here to ensure everything is configured correctly.

    2. Algorithm Updates: Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can affect how websites rank for certain keywords. It’s possible that your site was impacted by a recent update. You can check if your traffic drop correlates with any algorithm updates using our guide here.

    3. Keyword Focus: Make sure that the focus keywords you are using in Rank Math are aligned with your content. If you are seeing irrelevant keywords like "filmyfly," it may be worth reviewing the keywords set in your posts and ensuring they reflect your actual content.

    4. Search Console Insights: Utilize Google Search Console to analyze which keywords are driving traffic to your site. This can help you identify any anomalies and take corrective action.

To address the issue of irrelevant keywords:

    • Review Your Content: Check if there are any mentions or associations with the keyword "filmyfly" in your content or metadata that might be causing this ranking.
    • Disavow Irrelevant Keywords: If you find that certain keywords are not relevant, consider optimizing your content further or using the disavow tool in Google Search Console to indicate that you do not want these keywords associated with your site.

If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket with your website URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and provide more tailored assistance.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Rank Math does not control which keywords your site ranks for, as Google determines rankings based on your site’s content. Our plugin optimizes SEO elements like meta tags and schema but does not alter or inject keywords.

If your site is ranking for unrelated terms, it may be due to external factors like past content, backlinks, indexing issues, or even a potential attack.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
