    Hi,

The option to remove a specific URL from sitemap is not visible in my dashboard. Advanced mode is enabled
and the Add SEO Controls option is enabled too.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with removing a specific URL from your sitemap. In Rank Math, to exclude specific URLs from the sitemap, you typically need to use the Exclude Post Terms option or adjust the settings for the specific post type in the sitemap settings.

Since you mentioned that you have enabled Advanced Mode and the Add SEO Controls option, please ensure that you are following these steps:

    1. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings.
    2. Look for the section where you can manage the post types included in the sitemap.
    3. If you want to exclude specific posts, you can use the Exclude Post Terms option if applicable.

If you still cannot find the option to remove a specific URL, please reply to this ticket with the URL of your site so that we can assist you further. A human agent will take over and provide more detailed help.

Thank you for raising this concern!

I still don’t see Exclude Post Terms option. I still cannot find the option to remove a specific URL

    Hello,

The option to remove the post URL/term is on the General Tab of Sitemap Settings

    general

Here’s a link for more information on how to use that field:

    Looking forward to helping you.

Thank you Reinelle. Yes, I have seen the “Exclude posts” in the General tab, but this field asks for “Post ID”, not Page URL which is what I want to exclude. Where can I exclude Page URLs?

    Hello,

You may remember your pages/posts by their URLs, but WordPress uses IDs to work with them internally. The ID is a number that is assigned to each post, page, and custom post inside WordPress. You need to enter the numerical ID into this field for the exclusion to happen.

Here is how you find the ID of your posts. Open the post/page that you want to find the ID for in a new tab, and check the URL. Here is an example below:

From the URL yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1&action=edit, extract the post= part. In this case, it would be:

    post=1

The number after the “=” sign is the post ID. Enter that in the Exclude Posts field to exclude them from the Sitemap.

We hope this resolves the issue for you. If you have any questions, please let us know. We’re always here to help.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math.

Thank you Adetayo. I get it now.
