Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the XML sitemap generated by the Rank Math plugin on my website, https://dreamwall.dk. The sitemap, located at https://dreamwall.dk/sitemap_index.xml, is returning the following error:

Error Message:

pgsql
Kopiér
Rediger
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: https://dreamwall.dk/sitemap_index.xml
Line Number 838, Column 139:
[0] => SELECT COUNT(*) FROM clkb87c3a5286_wflivetraffichuman WHERE IP = X’00000000000000000000ffff57312a47′ AND identifier = ‘￿
——————————————————————————————————————————————^
Steps Taken to Resolve:

Validated XML Structure: I ensured that the sitemap begins with the proper XML declaration:

xml
Kopiér
Rediger
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
<urlset xmlns=”http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9″>
I also checked for any improperly closed tags or invalid characters but found none.

Checked for Plugin Conflicts: I deactivated other plugins, such as caching and security plugins, to see if they were interfering with the sitemap generation. The issue persisted despite these efforts.

Regenerated Sitemap: I used the Rank Math plugin to regenerate the sitemap multiple times, but the error remains.

Reviewed Server Logs: I examined the server logs for any errors that might be causing this issue but did not find any relevant information.

Additional Information:

WordPress Version: 6.7.2
Rank Math Version:
PHP Version: 8.2.27
Theme Used: Xstore
I have exhausted my troubleshooting options and would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. If you require access to the WordPress dashboard or FTP, please let me know, and I will provide the necessary credentials securely.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Adrian Sinclair

• Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the XML sitemap on your website. The error message you provided indicates that there may be a problem with the XML structure being generated by Rank Math.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue further:

1. Check for Whitespace or Extra Characters: Ensure that there are no extra spaces or characters before the XML declaration in your sitemap. Sometimes, a blank line in your wp-config.php or functions.php file can cause this issue.

2. Flush Permalinks: Go to your WordPress admin area, navigate to Settings → Permalinks, and click on Save Changes without making any changes. This can help resolve issues related to sitemap generation.
Flush permalink settings

3. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Since you’ve already deactivated other plugins, ensure that caching is completely disabled. Sometimes, caching plugins can interfere with the sitemap generation.

4. Review Server Configuration: Since you are using PHP 8.2.27, ensure that your server configuration is compatible with this version. You may also want to check your server logs again for any errors that might not have been apparent initially.

5. Custom Code or Theme Issues: Since you are using the Xstore theme, check if there are any custom functions or modifications in your theme that might affect the sitemap generation.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or errors you find, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we look forward to helping you resolve it!

I have enabled troubleshooting mode and am still experiencing the same issue, even though all plugins are deactivated except for Rank Math. I have also reviewed functions.php and wp-config.php, and there are no issues there.

Can you help me identify what might be causing this?”

I found the problem, wordfence, i deleted wordfence and it’s working again

Hello,

We’re glad that you have already managed to resolve this issue.

If you have any other concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime so we can assist you further.

Looking forward to helping you.
