Sitemap not indexed by Search console

    Rank Math free

Google search console says it cannot index the sitemap as it is blocked by robots.txt. I have tried everything, there is no robots.txt in root directory, there is no block in robots.txt or .htaccess, and the sitemap https://powdorum.co.uk/sitemap_index.xml is indexed WHEN I DISABLE RANKMATH.
Also, I cannot see the Google analytics property of the website in Rankmath although it exists in Google Analytics and the related account.

    Please help

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap not being indexed by Google Search Console. It sounds like you’ve already done a thorough investigation. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the sitemap indexing issue further:

    1. Check Rank Math Settings: Ensure that there are no settings in Rank Math that might be inadvertently blocking the sitemap. Go to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt and verify that there are no disallow rules affecting your sitemap.

    2. Review the Sitemap URL: Make sure that the sitemap URL you are submitting is correct. It should be `https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/. You can validate your sitemap using the Validate XML Sitemap tool to ensure it is correctly configured.

    3. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Since you mentioned that the sitemap is indexed when Rank Math is disabled, there may be a conflict with another plugin. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.

    4. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache after making changes to your settings. Sometimes, cached versions of your site can cause issues.

    5. Google Analytics Property: Regarding the Google Analytics property not appearing in Rank Math, ensure that you have correctly linked your Google Analytics account in Rank Math settings. You can do this by going to Rank Math SEO → Dashboard → Analytics and checking if the correct property is selected.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, we recommend replying to your ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Can you please confirm if you’re inspecting your sitemap URL in Google Search Console and getting this error? If so, it is normal, and you don’t have to worry. You’ll get the error if you inspect your sitemaps because, by default, they are set to noindex, meaning they are meant to be crawled and not displayed on search results pages.

You should only submit your sitemap to the sitemap section of your GSC account and shouldn’t use the URL inspection tool for the sitemap URLs.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
