I think there is an issue because rolling back to version 1.0.48.2 solves the problem

The issue is still there in the latest version, the Article Schema Type is not applied on posts unless we manually edit them. The expected behavior is to apply the global Aricle type unless a manual type is specified for the post. The issue doesn’t affect other Schema types; for example when we change the global setting to BlogPosting type it will be applied on all posts correctly as expected.
