Cannot Connect to Google Analytics

Google have very recently updated to GA4 which changes the way that a GA property connects to the site to determine data.

As a result, the old UA code has now been replaced with a G code which Rank Math do not recognise.

Will this compatibility issue be corrected or will RM provide documentation on a workaround?

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

The Analytics module in Rank Math does not work with v4 of Google Analytics.

We will be working on that very soon.

We will keep you posted about the progress.

    Thanks Uzair,

I have a similar problem, RankMath setup assistant does not recognize my new GA4 properties.

    I will follow this post.

    Hello @Patrizio,

You can also keep an eye on our change log: https://rankmath.com/changelog/, we will be mentioning this when we released an update with this issue resolved.

If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.

I’m having the same issue. I need to connect Analytics to several websites. It’s frustrating not being able to do this via RankMath. Is there any timeline for a fix?

    Hello,

Google Analytics 4 has a lot of changes so it is not a quick fix we can deploy in just a few days. We don’t have a public ETA (yet) but don’t worry, we are working hard to have it as soon as possible, we know a lot of users want it.

    Looking forward to help you.

    Hi there,
I just want to know if this issue still persists, yeah, I just opened a new site some weeks ago and now when I try to connect google analytics to rank math, it does not shows a property.

Is there any ETA for this issue? I mean, it has been a lot of time since google analytics changed to v4. I am following this topic, hope rank math gets well soon.

I also am having this issue. Any update on when it will be fixed? (At least I think it is the same issue. My Google Analytics Property isn’t being displayed as an option)

I’m having the same issue. How can Rank Math not respond preemptively to such changes with Google Analytics when the whole idea of RM is to make it work better? I wasted so much time trying to get a UA Id from Google thinking that I made a mistake somewhere. It would’ve been better if RM gave a heads up through an app notification.

    Hello,

    We are soory about that.

GA4 is relatively a new product and is in Beta, & there could be data discrepancies if we were to integrate them into Rank Math. And the fact that their APIs are not yet fully ready for 3rd party integration, there is not much we can do.

However, we will begin working on the integration as soon as they improve their V4 API.

In the meantime, you can enable GA v3 by following this:
    create a property
    and then choose
    ga 3

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
