    Hi There,

    We have a webshop with over 205 categorie pages and also over 2300 products per domain. And we have 3 domains –> that means we have 3 x 205 categorie pages and 3 x 2300 product pages in our webshop.

    Thats quite a lot. And our webshop is also live for over a year.

    We want to shorten our product and category URL’s by using the Rankmath SEO –> WooCommerce Settings like :

    4.1 Remove Base
    4.2 Remove Category Base
    4.3 Remove Paren Slugs
    4.4 Remove WooCommerce Generator Tag

    BUT we want to be absolutely 100% sure that Rank Math creates redirects for us from our old pages to our new ones. Because we don’t want to loose our old links etc. Due to obvious reasons.

    – Can you guys 100% ensure me that Rank Math creates the redirects after I enable this settings?

    – And can you also tell me, if disable the settings, because I am not happy with the results etc. That its going back to how it originally was?!

    – Like to hear from you guys, so we can enable the settings. Because we do like the way more cleaner URL look and we also think that it will be way better then before.

    Because right now our links look like this:

    https://justpleasure.nl/shop/toys-voor-vrouwen/vibrators/luchtdruk-vibrators/svakom-pulse-union/

    And we when we enable the new settings it would be:

    https://justpleasure.nl/svakom-pulse-union/

    Is this correct?!

    Hello,

    When you change the permalink structure or use our Strip base feature, a redirection will be added automatically for the affected URLs, this will maintain SEO juice and will avoid deranking the said URLs.

    Also, the product URL structure you shared is prone to conflict if you have the same slug with your normal posts/pages. So, before changing the permalinks, you may need to ensure that they do not have the same URL with your pages.

    Hi there,

    I got 2 more questions then:

    – I’ve tried to set the settings to on –> but there were not automatic redirects. Not even one hour / 2 hour after I changed the settings. Also in RankMath -> redirects there were no new ones.
    So how long will it take for rank math to make redirects , and put them in that folder?

    – Thereby this only change the category, but doesn’t change the product permalinks –> product permalinks still have all the categories and sub-categories and sub-sub categories.
    Is there a way in rankmath to also change the permalink structure for products?! or is it only categories/

    Hello,

    1. Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard → General Settings → Permalinks and save the settings without changing anything.

    If the issue persists, then you may need to create a series of regex redirections manually that will redirect URLs with base URLs to URLs with no base URLs.

    2. Rank Math should be able to the product or shop base and the category bases. Can you please share some of the product’s URLs and the expected URLs after you turn on our settings?
