Redirections won’t save…

    Hi,

I keep trying to add new redirections on a site I’m developing, and they won’t save. Is this because the site is still in development? I have tried your suggestion of recreating the database tables, but still nothing. Everytime I add a list of new redirects and click “save” no new redirects are showing up anywhere. I tried clearing my site cache as well, to no avail… why is this happening and how do I fix it? I have shared my credentials in the sensitive data field in case you need to log in and troubleshoot. Thanks!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with saving redirections. It sounds frustrating, especially after trying to recreate the database tables and clearing your site cache.

Since you mentioned that the site is still in development, there could be a few reasons why the redirections are not saving:

    1. Database Issues: Even if you’ve recreated the database tables, ensure that your database user has the necessary permissions to write to the tables.

    2. Caching Plugins: Sometimes, caching plugins can interfere with saving changes. Make sure to clear both your site cache and your browser cache after making changes.

    3. JavaScript Conflicts: There might be a JavaScript conflict caused by another plugin or theme that prevents Rank Math from saving the redirection settings. You can check for errors in the browser’s console by opening Developer Tools (F12) and navigating to the Console tab. If you see any errors, they might provide clues about what’s going wrong.

    4. Firewall Settings: If you have a firewall in place, it might be blocking access to certain Rank Math functionalities. Ensure that Rank Math is whitelisted in your firewall settings.

If none of these solutions work, we recommend replying to this ticket with any error messages you find in the console or additional details about your setup. A human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it soon!

I think I actually figured this out – I had a trailing slash at the end of my source URLs. Once I removed that, it saved.

Nevermind, this is not resolved. The only way that redirects will save is if I manually type them all in. I am trying to copy and paste the URLs from a Google Sheet and that won’t work. So I tried copying and pasting from a CSV file and a plain text file – none of that works. Do I really have to manually type all of these in? This is very inefficient. Please make this work. It’s frustrating!

    Hello,

Could you please share the CSV file of the redirects you are creating so we can check it?

You can upload the file on https://wetransfer.com/ or any file-sharing service like Google Drive and add the generated link here.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
