Rank Math showing lorem ipsum in meta description in Pages.

    I’m using Astra + Beaver Builder with Rank Math. On Pages where I don’t edit the meta data to add a description, RankMath outputs Lorem Ipsum text in the meta description. It should output nothing or (perhaps) some text from the Beaver Builder content.

    Example:

    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Atimberartisanstudio.co.nz&oq=site%3Atimberartisanstudio.co.nz&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.6579j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

    I would suggest that, if this can’t be resolved easily, that you make it possible to set a default meta description for pages in this scenario, rather than Rank Math showing default lorem ipsum text.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Rank math should automatically pick an excerpt of your page content if no description is defined in Rank math meta box.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Please let us know if you find the culprit.

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Thanks for your message.

    All plugins, core and the theme are at the latest versions.

    The default description is set to %seo_description%.
    – If I remove that in the settings, it is restored when I save the settings.
    – If I replace the default with a space, then the description on the page disappears.
    – Removing the space restores %seo_description% again, and the Lorem Ipsum description appears.

    These pages are built with Beaver Builder. Maybe Rank Math isn’t able to find any text to use for %seo_description%?

    So, it seems that %seo_description% is somehow being generated with Lorem Ipsum text. I doubt this is being caused by a plugin conflict, but I’m happy to give you an admin login to the site so you can troubleshoot. It’s also worth noting that this is not the only site where I have noticed this issue.
