Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirection of your category. It seems that there might be a redirect still set up in Rank Math that is causing this behavior. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
-
Check Redirects: Go to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections and look for any existing redirects that might be pointing from the new "Apple" category to the old "Apple-old" category. If you find any, delete them.
-
Use the Redirection Debugger: If you are still experiencing issues, you can use the Redirection Debugger to diagnose the problem further. This tool can help identify any conflicting redirects.
-
Clear Cache Again: After making changes, ensure that you clear your site cache again, as sometimes caching plugins can hold onto old redirect rules.
-
Check for Other Plugins: If the issue persists, check if there are any other plugins that might be handling redirects, as they could interfere with Rank Math’s settings.
If you’ve gone through these steps and the problem continues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!

Deleted the wrong redirect from the new /apple/ to the old /apple-old/, BUT despite having the correct slug /apple/, the category is still broken just like before. Sub-categories work, just like before. So I am back to zero. Rankmath doesn’t like the word Apple it seems.
Hello,
Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.
Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Permalinks and save the settings without changing anything.
Let us know how that goes. If the issue persists, we’ll assist further.
Looking forward to helping you.
This has been suggested me at least 4 times by now. It does not do anything.
Hello,
Our team might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested.
PS! If you are going to turn RM on and off, then make sure you leave it the way it was (either ON or OFF) before you started changing things as it may change links, SEO settings or other things if left OFF when it was ON.
Thank you.
Hello,
We checked your website and found that when the Remove base option is enabled in Rank Math > General Settings > WooCommerce, that category returns a 404 error. This issue only occurs with that specific Apple category.
However, we already shared the issue with our developers and they are investigating it. For further troubleshooting, we might need the FTP logins of your website.
If you’re not sure about your site’s FTP logins, you can get in touch with your hosting provider and then share the logins in the sensitive data section.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the update. Let me know when and if you need the FTP access.
Hello,
We might not need the FTP Access as we are able to reproduce this issue on our dev setup.
We are currently looking into the cause of this, and will share another update below this on, as soonest.
We apologize for any inconveniences that might have been caused by this issue.
Thank you.
