  • In Google Search Console, it shows 106k pages not indexed, but I have only posted 75 articles on my website. There are 23k pages showing as ‘not found’ (404), and 80k pages are ‘crawled – currently not indexed.’ In these URLs, the last part is 132139191.shtml, and all the URLs have different numbers. None of my posts are being indexed, and all my old posts have been de-indexed.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s indexing in Google Search Console. It sounds like a complex situation with a significant number of pages showing as not indexed, especially when you have only posted a limited number of articles.

The status "Crawled – currently not indexed" indicates that Google has crawled these pages but has not indexed them yet. This can happen for various reasons, including site-wide issues or quality checks that Google applies to your content. It’s important to note that Google does not index all submitted URLs, and finding some under this status is normal.

Here are a few steps you can take to address the situation:

    1. Check the URL Inspection Tool: Use the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to check the specific URLs that are showing as crawled but not indexed. This tool can provide insights into why certain pages are not being indexed.
Inspect URL in Google Search Console

    2. Evaluate Your Site Structure: Ensure that your website has a good internal linking structure. Pages that are important should be linked from other relevant pages on your site. This helps Google understand the importance of your content.

    3. Quality of Content: Make sure that your content meets Google’s quality guidelines. If your site has many 404 errors (like the 23k pages you mentioned), it may affect the overall quality perception of your site.

    4. Sitemap Submission: Ensure that your sitemap is correctly submitted in Google Search Console and reflects only the valid URLs you want indexed.

    5. Address 404 Errors: Fix or remove any broken links leading to 404 pages, as they can negatively impact your site’s overall SEO performance.

    6. Monitor Changes: After making adjustments, monitor your Google Search Console for any changes in indexing status over time.

If you continue to experience issues, it may be beneficial to consult with an SEO expert who can provide a more tailored analysis of your website’s situation.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope these suggestions help improve your indexing situation!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As we mentioned in your previous ticket, since we don’t generate these URLs, we can’t control them.

But, you can add the disallow rule on your robots.txt file that we’ve shared and see if that works for you:

    Disallow: /*.shtml

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you

    Hello,
