Hi,
How do I refresh the sitemap.xml?
I tried the steps highlighted in here (https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/force-a-refresh-of-the-xml-sitemap/), I also cleared the cache, still nothing.See sensitive data for more details.
Please advise.
Thanks.

I also tried to disable the xml generation toggle, as well as disable rank math entirely, still it doesn’t update.
I actually noticed that several links are affected (not appearing), I tried to browse the sitemap page in incognito mode, same story.I tried then to use “Google XML Sitemaps” plugin alongside rank math (disabling the xml generation toggle in rank math), but apparently rank math prevents entirely this other plugin from working.
What’s the resolution here? As Sitemap is a key part of any website, and apparently rank math only updates at times, affecting google searchability.
Thanks.

Hi Sajid,
thanks for getting back.
I actually just fixed that manually but, after doing some long debugging I discovered a wrong behaviour (which is a bug).
I had to unpublish and recreate manually three pages (this meant also recreating all the linking structure which was a huge pain to recreated), to finally find the root cause the get RankMath to update the sitemap.xmlBefore I go to the solution, for your benefit, and for the benefit of the community, I’ll share what are the steps I undertook:
– I tried to disable and re-enable the feature in rank math and it didn’t work;
– I disabled entirely rank math re-enabled and it didn’t work;
– I installed a different plugin that only generates xml but rankmath interferes and prevents others plugins from working (which is not nice at all);
– I tried to unpublish all pages, modify them, etce etc, and it didn’t work.What I discovered is that, when a page gets pubished for the first time, with a canonical url explicitly written in the page properties, RankMath will never ever take that page in account, and it will never appear in the sitemap, no matter what you’ll do later, that page is gone for good for RankMath visibility.
I spent a few hours now to fix that, but I need to know if this bug is going to be solved or if you guys are going to allow other tools like “βGoogle XML Sitemapsβ to generate sitemaps (as rankmath, as already written, interferes with them).
As if not, unfortunately I can’t keep using Rank Math ( I really love it, but such a huge bug in sitemap generation, is something that affects a lot my website’s SEO).
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for your input but we are not able to replicate this issue. Rank Math caches sitemaps internally so it is worth testing if that is causing the issue by disabling the sitemap cache using this filter:
https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#enable-disable-sitemap-cacheYou should also do a hard refresh by opening your sitemap in your browser and pressing these keys:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5If the issue returns, please let us know without making any changes so we can look at this in more detail.
Hi Uzair,
Yes I did all my tests in incognito, so to be sure nothing was being cached by the browser.
As per your suggestion (https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#enable-disable-sitemap-cache), sorry for the silly question but I’m not clear where I should copy and paste that code snippet. Thanks.
Best regards,
Mike
