Sitemap Couldn’t Fetch

#927452
  • Hi Support Team,

I recently set up two domains and attempted to add them to Google Search Console. However, I encountered an error during the process that I’ve been unable to resolve despite multiple troubleshooting steps.

The redirection of alternate versions to the primary version is functioning perfectly, and the .htaccess file appears to be correctly configured. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Flushed the sitemap cache following the instructions in a Rank Math tutorial.
Excluded the Rank Math sitemap files from my caching plugin.
Disabled the caching plugin entirely to test the issue.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the error. I would appreciate your guidance in diagnosing and resolving this problem.

    Looking forward to your support.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

You should only submit the correct version of your sitemap. For the thegulfcareerz.org website, you should submit thegulfcareerz.org/sitemap_index.xml, and for the thedubaivacanciez.net/ website, you should only submit https://www.thedubaivacanciez.net/sitemap_index.xml in Google Search Console.

Please try to clear your website cache, remove all the submitted sitemaps, and resubmit only the correct version of your sitemaps: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

If the issue persists, please try to follow this guideline for further troubleshooting: https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/

However, it looks like you’re currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin on your websites, but the account you have used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

Please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your account and verify it.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

So what about other versions? Why they’re not getting fetch and giving errors despite configuring correct redirection through htaccess?

    Hello,

Since they are already redirected, then you won’t need to submit those variations in your Google Search Console.

You should only submit your website’s final version as we have shared in this guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

    Looking forward to helping you.
