Hello again,
as I can see this problem doesn’t only concerns my WP installation.
Today I’ve tried to deactivate all plugins, flushing cache and transinets in Rank Math. Noting helped me. Rank Math still do not want to save changes in its settings.
Will appreciate your help or plugin update.
Best regards,
Greg
Hello
Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please update to the latest version of Rank Math and let us know if the issue persists.
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you for reply.
I use the latest version but still noting changes.
Here: https://recordit.co/s4Lb17Ln5H you may see an example of how the saving of settings works or – to say better – does not work:)
Hope you can help.
Regards,
Greg
Hello,
If that doesn’t help, and you are using the latest version of all the plugins, themes, and WordPress (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello!
I did exacly what is written there and… the plugin that is causing the issue is Rank Math itself. With all plugins (except RM) disabled and having Twenty twenty activated options still do not want to be saved.
Would you mind to have a look inside my instllation?
I can see that it is not only my problem reading the issues of other RM users.
Regards,
Greg
Hello,
The options are working fine on our end:
https://i.rankmath.com/ZhwdcX
and we tested using the Troubleshoot mode on your website and was able to reproduce the issue on your environment. Not sure why is that happening.
Have escalated this to a senior developer to look into it.
Also, please confirm all the settings of the plugin (especially in the General tab) as they might be reset to the default.
Sorry for the trouble you are facing.
We really look forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
I have logged in to your site to check this. It is a rather unusual issue and I could not find what is causing it on your site yet.
Could you please share the FTP access details in the Sensitive Data field, so we can try some changes in the plugin code?
Thank you. Looking forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
I’ve just added credentials for the FTP access.
Please, let me know what was wrong afterwards.
Thank you.
Greg
Hello,
Thank you for sharing the FTP details.
The issue seems to be related to this emoji you have inserted in the Breadcrumbs > Prefix Breadcrumbs field: 📌
When I remove that, the settings can be saved correctly. I tried this on a test site and everything is working fine for me when I use the same emoji in the settings, so the issue must be related to your server configuration. Please contact your hosting provider about the issue.
Hope that helps.
Thank you very much!
Could you tell please, what exactly should I ask for my server team as I am no coder?
Regars,
Greg
Hello,
Unfortunately, I can’t tell exactly what is causing the issue. What we know is that when we send that emoji character via a POST
request to the /wp-admin/admin-post.php
(along with other data), then all the data we send is getting ignored, as if we didn’t send anything. The issue might be related to some kind of security feature on the server.
Maybe you could do some tests, inserting the emoji in other areas (like in the post editor, or other settings pages) and see if the same issue happens in other areas or not. That could help determine the cause of the issue.
Hope that helps.
