Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
The URL is redirecting correctly. However, it can take some time for Google to recrawl the old URL, detect the redirection, and remove it from the SERPs. This isn’t something that you can control using SEO plugins, and you must wait for Google to recrawl the URL.
Also, the new URL is already indexed in the SERPs:
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hello @Jaideep,
Thank you so much for your insightful response! Would it be helpful if I used the URL Inspection tool in Google Search Console to manually submit the old URL for indexing? Could that potentially speed up Google’s detection of the redirection?
Best regards,
Zahid
Hello,
The URL will just end up in redirected status if you submit it to your GSC account.
In this case, you can utilize the page removal tool in your Google Search Console account to remove the old URL from the search results page
Hereās a link for more information:

Normally, this should take about 24-48 hours to remove the URLs upon removing, but it still depends on Google if they want to remove the URL.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Reinelle,
I appreciate the advice on using the page removal tool. Just to confirm, once I remove the old URL through the tool, will that help speed up the indexing of the new URL? Also, will the old URL still showing in search results affect the performance or ranking of my new page in any way?
Hello,
It will not help speed up the new URL as it is for removing the URL from the search results only.
Please note that Google considers various factors while indexing. Your frequency of posting and your siteās domain authority are just two of the many factors Google considers when indexing new web pages.
Google assigns a crawl budget to your website depending on these factors (especially these two), and that has a direct effect on how soon (i.e. how efficiently) your content can be indexed.
Also, since the old URL is already redirected, the link juice will be passed from the source (old URL) to the destination (new URL) with time once the search engine bots realize that there is a redirection.
Looking forward to helping you.
