Rank Math conflict

My wordpress site built with the avada theme has a conflict with the Rank Math plugin. It’s causing a custom link (shop jewelry) in the main navigation and footer menu to open in a new window when it should open in the same window. How can I fix this issue?

I already reached out to Avada support. This is their final response:

Thank you for the update. I have checked the details, and it seems that the Rank Math plugin configuration may not be set up correctly on this site: https://shopbybecca.com/styling-services/, which is affecting the menu item.

Please reach out to the plugin author to review and resolve the configuration issues within the plugin.

I only have a few active plugins on the site:
– Avada Builder
– Avada Core
– Hustle
– Sucuri Security

When I deactivate the Rank Math plugin, the custom links function as they should.

Are you able to take a look and fix any issues?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

The option to Open External Links in New Tab/Window was enabled at Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Links > Open External Links in New Tab/Window.

We have disabled that option and now the Shop Jewelry link no longer opens in a new tab.

Please clear your browser’s cache and confirm this issue has been resolved.
