Custom SEO Titles and Meta Descriptions Not Showing in Google Search Results

I’m encountering a persistent issue on my website https://rummyez.com/ where the custom SEO titles and meta descriptions configured through Rank Math aren’t appearing in Google search results. Instead, Google is displaying either default titles or snippets from the page content, even though each page has unique SEO information set up. I’ve already tried re-indexing the site in Google Search Console, clearing both the website and browser cache, and ensuring that all Rank Math settings are correctly configured and up-to-date. Additionally, I’ve checked for potential conflicts with other SEO plugins but found none.

My current setup includes WordPress version 6.3.1, Rank Math version 1.0.120, and other active plugins like Yoast SEO (for redirection management), WP Super Cache (for caching), and Elementor (for page building). Could you please help me understand why the SEO titles and descriptions are not being reflected in Google’s search results, or suggest further steps I might take to resolve this issue? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the custom SEO titles and meta descriptions not showing up in Google search results. This can be frustrating, especially after taking steps to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Here are a few points to consider that might help resolve the issue:

    1. Check if Google has Indexed the Latest Version of Your Page: Sometimes, Google may not have indexed the latest version of your page. You can check this by entering cache: followed by your page URL in the search bar. This will show you the last cached version of your page. If the cache date is from before you made your changes, you will need to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index your page.
      Check date in cache

    2. Google’s Discretion: Even if you have set custom titles and descriptions, Google sometimes chooses to display different information based on what it believes is more relevant to the search query. This means that even with everything configured correctly, there is no guarantee that Google will use your specified meta information.

    3. Quality of Content: Ensure that your content is high-quality and relevant. Poorly written or thin content can lead to Google opting for different snippets. Factors like keyword stuffing or low-quality inbound links can also affect how Google displays your site in search results.

    4. Schema Markup: Make sure that your Schema Markup is correctly configured using Rank Math. You can test your rich snippets using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to ensure there are no errors.

    5. Patience: After making changes, it may take some time for Google to reflect those changes in search results. It can take several weeks for Google to re-index your pages and update its database.

If you’ve checked all these aspects and the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern, and we’re here to help!

    Hello,

We checked your homepage with some keywords and we can see Google is showing the correct meta title and description on SERPS:

That means Google is already aware of the correct metadata of your website. Nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta title and description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

You can follow this URL for details on this issue:

However, the current version of the Rank Math plugin is 1.0.232. We suggest you update the plugin to the latest and make sure not to use any duplicate SEO plugins on your site as it can create conflicts.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
